The story
The Margarita's exact origins are debated, but it is widely believed to have been created in the 1930s in Mexico. One popular story attributes it to a socialite named Margarita Sames, who served it at her home in Acapulco. It quickly became popular among the elite and has since become one of the most beloved cocktails worldwide.
